The best snacks to go with beer (and why spicy cashews win)
Share
Crisps are fine. Peanuts are fine. But if you've ever had a snack that actually made your drink taste better, you'll know "fine" isn't the bar. A good bar snack wants three things: salt, crunch and a bit of heat – which is exactly what we built The Nuts around.
Lager and pilsner
Clean, crisp and cold – the easiest pairing there is. The chilli heat makes you reach for the next sip, and the lager cools things straight back down. It's the reason we started making these.
IPA and pale ale
Hoppy beers love big flavours. The fried garlic and curry leaves stand up to the bitterness rather than getting lost in it. If you like your IPA, you'll like this one.
Stout and porter
Roasty, chocolatey beers and spicy, savoury cashews are a brilliant contrast. Think of it like chilli and dark chocolate – it shouldn't work on paper, but it really does.
Cocktails and wine
A margarita, a spritz or a G&T with plenty of ice all play nicely with a bit of heat. For wine, go for something crisp and cold – a dry white or a rosé – rather than a big red.

Why cashews?
They're creamy, they hold flavour beautifully, and they've got a better bite than most nuts. We use mostly whole cashews and hand-fry them in small batches with fresh garlic, onion, curry leaves and chillies – so every handful has proper crunch and real flavour, not a dusting of powder.
